Wood Buffalo HIV & AIDS Societies mission is to promote public awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS without prejudice; thus encouraging and involving the community in prevention strategies and supporting people infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. Currently WBHAS offers a variety of programs and services that addresses the escalating rates of HIV, AIDS and now an increasing number of Hepatitis C cases. We provide programs that address the social determinants of health which may result in people becoming infected with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C.
The United Way helps fund the Community Education program, which has been in existence for several years. This program helps lift barriers, and allows easier access to information and services.
