"We're All In This Together"
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Join the hundreds of individuals, organizations, and businesses that are helping to create lasting, positive change in our community and in individual lives. There are many ways to get involved!
Make a Donation.
Your donation to United Way will rebuild lives and make our community a better place for all of us.
Become a Volunteer.
Volunteering is a personal hands-on way to improve lives through United Way. Volunteers are the heart and soul of United Way of Fort McMurray. They provide support, raise funds and help our special events run smoothly. They are essential to our success. Get involved, be active, make a difference in your community.

Run an employee campaign.
Employee campaigns build morale, leadership, and teamwork within your organization while providing essential resources to make a difference in our community. United Way provides support and training to your Employee Campaign Chair to help ensure a successful in-house campaign.
Promote the Community Fund.
All donations to United Way - Either through individual, corporate, or matching gifts - go to our Community Fund if they are not designated to a specific charity. The Commuity Fund provides the resources for virtually all United Way's work, including:
funding a vital network of services and programs;
leading community-based partnerships to tackle complex social issues such as proverty;
providing training skills development to build stronger agencies;
advocating for changes in public policy to eliminate inequity and expand opportunities for individuals
Give a corporate gift.
Enhance your reputation as a socially responsible and engaged organization.
Run a Leadership Giving campaign.
Leadership Gifts ($1,000+) provide significant resources to support the needs in our community and develop solutions to complex social challenges. Consider recruiting a Leadership Chair to run a targeted campaign in your organization.

Send us a Loaned Representative, or two.
Loan or Sponsor an employee to work alongside our fundraising staff for 16 weeks in the fall. They will learn important skills and acquire valuable experience that will strengthen your organization when they return.
Become a United Way sponsor.
There are numerous sponsorship opportunities to choose from, including publications, events and the Loaned Representative program. Sponsorships help keep our costs low while providing you with unique opportunities for exposure.
Participate in a Day of Caring.
This eye-opening experience gives employees from organizations in our community the chance to help out at a United Way-funded agency for the day. It's also a great team-building excercise!
Provide an Account Executive.
Account Executives are senior business leaders who volunteer alongside members of our Campaign Cabinet to open doors and make calls on behalf of United Way. The time commitment is approximately two hours per month for six months.
Participate in a "Seeing is Believing" Tour.
Embark on a journey of discovery without leaving town.
A Powerful Hour.
United Way-organized agency tours provide an eye-opening experience for you and your employees to see first hand how your donations are changing lives.
These powerful visits allow participants to experience a side of our community they might not otherwise see. Tours are intended to provide insight and perspective, as well as background information, and to assist volunteers in answering questions that they may encounter during their workplace campaigns. How does the United Way help? What does the United Way funding mean to member agencies? Who uses the services provided by the member agencies?
