Resource Development Coordinator

Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week)

Reports To: Executive Director

United Way is seeking a confident and experienced resource development professional responsible for increasing financial support of United Way through proactive relationship management of new and existing corporate and individual accounts. You must be passionate about the fundraising profession and community. Be a focused, goal-oriented, self-driven professional who sets and meets aggressive fundraising goals. Primary Areas of Responsibility

  • Support Resource Development Department with planning, development and successful execution of all facets of fundraising and the annual campaign, including preparation of canvasser kits, attendance at Campaign Committee meetings
  • Take a lead role in the planning and execution of over $20.000 raffles, including 50/50 using the Electronic Raffle System.
  • Primary contact for all resource development related contracts.
  • Maintain awareness of all activities related to the annual campaign
  • Represents UW in our community especially as it pertains to campaign including delivering United Way presentations to workplaces
  • Responsible to ensure all campaign canvassers are trained
  • Development of current and appropriate training and promotional materials
  • Receipt campaign revenue as required
  • Enter campaign data and prepare sector reports and other relevant documents.
  • Leadership role in special events planning: Campaign Kickoff, Volunteer Recognition, Community Building Awards, and any other events
  • Manages ‘Seeing is Believing” tours.
  • Assists Community Investment Coordinators with “Day of Caring” program.
  • Develop a youth initiative to engage this sector’s participation in community campaign
  • Liaison with Workplace Campaign Committee
  • Support other team members

Manager, Resource Development

As the Manager, Resource Development, your experience and skills will help shape the future of the organization and the overall social impact that United Way FMWB has in Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo while supporting the achievement of our philanthropic goals and of our Supported Partner agencies.

As the Manager of Resource Development, you will be working with a team of like-minded professionals, who support each other to meet financial targets, organizational goals, and will help shape the future of United Way FMWB’s Resource Development team. This is a great time to join the team as we look to advance our revenue portfolio within philanthropy, fundraising and corporate partnerships. In this role, you will work collaboratively with United Way FMWB staff, and the Revenue Development team to hit key financial targets in Planned Giving, Annual Giving, Tomorrow Fund, etc. and will help to shape United Way FMWB’s stewardship strategy. As a Manager, you will oversee the Resource Development Coordinator and Development Administrator to deliver on key revenue and philanthropic targets, while maintaining and updating relevant donor and aggregate information so that it is accurate and accessible.

Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, United Way FMWB staff, board and committees, donors and volunteers, the Manager, Resource Development will ensure the overall success of the Philanthropy and Resource Development functions.

Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Assist in the creation of the annual strategic framework for United Way FMWB’s Philanthropy and Resource Development function that delivers on targets and organizational strategies;
Manage and lead the Revenue Development function;
Manage individual performance and foster collaboration and innovation;
Support the management of key donor engagement channels like e-solicitation, direct mail, radio advertising, google retargeting advertising, social media platforms, etc.
Identify, cultivate and solicit new donors, major gift donors, prospect donors, and legacy donors
Steward current donors to achieve optimal donor acquisition and retention goals
Create engaging campaigns in collaboration with the United Way FMWB team, while managing third party contractors where necessary
Develop Monthly reports that are data driven and incorporate industry trends and standards for review
Oversee the health of the donor database with support from the Resource Development Administrator
Possess a strong knowledge of fundraising legislation, regulations and guidelines

• Develops and evaluates systems to optimize individual, workgroup, and organizational efficiency and effectiveness
• Understands how one’s performance contributes to the functioning and long-term success of the organization, and acts on suggestions for growth
• Post-secondary education preferably in fundraising or Non-Profit related studies
• 3-5 years of philanthropic experience is preferred
• Proven success in donor acquisition, stewardship and major gifts
• Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
• Must be Proficient in CRM Database application
• Proficient with social media, including: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
